Now that Thanksgiving is over, I can officially listen to Christmas music, decorate the tree and put twinkle lights on every surface imaginable. I’m ready to see some tinsel, folks!
What could be more fun and romantic than touches of holiday favorites in your wedding decor? Think unique nutcrackers in lieu of table numbers and ornaments as guest favors . . . the possibilities are endless! Here a few ideas to make your wedding more magical than the North Pole.
Ornament centerpieces are easy, shiny and perfect for the season!
If you’re following the Richmond Wedding Expo on Facebook, you saw the bit of wedding inspiration we couldn’t resist sharing yesterday. When I looked into the kinds of unique nutcrackers you could find to use instead of table numbers, I found THESE!
Now THIS is the perfect way to get plenty of ornaments to dress up your first Christmas tree! Leave plenty of clear bulbs and strips of paper out for your guests, as well as some glitter & festive gadgets that will fit through the bulb’s opening. Instead of signing a guestbook, guests can write their advice, well wishes, etc. on the paper strips and make a bulb you can hang on your tree for years to come.
When it comes to planning your color scheme for a Christmastime wedding, keep in mind that it doesn’t HAVE to be red and green! Using other colors, like evergreens, treys, ice blues, etc. will make your decor feel less like Santa’s house and more like a Winter Wonderland!
Of course, you can use fun wrapping techniques to wrap real gifts for each other, your guests or your bridal party; however, you can also use “faux-gifts” (empty boxes wrapped really beautifully) to decorate. You can use them as centerpieces at varying heights, on the gift & cake tables, on the buffet tables, the list goes on!
