Highlighting Your Best Features

When it comes to your dream wedding day beauty, there are two things you may plan to
do: get a pre-wedding tan for that extra special glow and use highlighter to enhance your favorite features. But did you know that you can use your spray tan and highlighter to accentuate different parts of your body? With our help you can apply these beauty tricks across your entire body, making you look picture-perfect and absolutely glowing on your big day!
Tanning is a great way to look more toned and fit in your wedding dress. By creating subtle shading and shadows and layering and blending tanner in certain areas, you can conceal uneven skin tone and create a smoother look. In fact, choosing the perfect spray tan and 2D body contouring will make you feel that extra gorgeousness that will look amazing in your photos. For example, if you’ve chosen to rock one of those super sexy backless dresses on the big day, you might want to use your highlighter to make it pop even more.
When starting your spray tan search, be sure to research the companies in your area for the ones that offer “custom airbrush spray tans and body contouring.” With this service, you’ll know you are getting a very skilled professional that will select the formula that is best for your skin tone and will add those soft contours to your body to make your tan look completely natural. Next, book your trial 1-2 weeks before your wedding date to get a good idea of how it will look. Your final spray tan will be scheduled at least two days prior to your wedding day.
On your wedding day, once you have your final spray tan, get your makeup artist or a friend to help with the application of the matte highlighter. Once you are dressed, take a small brush and apply bronzer down the middle of your back, along your spine. Brush lightly across the lower back if it is showing, almost like an inverted “T.” The key here is restraint…you don’t want to appear as if you are covered in glitter! You are simply highlighting the most beautiful areas of your back. The light will catch the highlighter, and the effect is gorgeous!
You can get the same effect without highlighter, too. To show off an area, you can request your spray tanner to adjust the tanning formula so it is lighter and your eye is drawn to it on areas like your collarbones, shoulders, and the middle of your back.
Another fun area to draw light to? Your shoulders, especially if you’re wearing a strapless gown! Again, the highlighter should be subtle. Brush the highlighter on the front, side, and top of shoulders. This draws the eye to that area which is so beautiful. Try some on your clavicle too, for an even leaner look.
If you’re wearing a short dress, you can also play with your legs. You can use tanner to make some areas look smaller by creating shadows or contouring arms to look more toned and leaner. Creating a shadow or darker line down the sides of legs and abs offers a slimmer appearance.
Whether you choose to contour your spray tan or use highlighter, make sure to try it out with a test tan so that you can be confident in the final result. Also, remember to BLEND! Blending is key, especially for fair skin tones.
At the end of the day remember that for your wedding, you are enhancing your own personal beauty, not trying to look like someone else!
