How They Met

Hugh, a computer engineer, and Erin, a registered nurse, met during their junior year of high school Hugh was the new kid in school, and he and Erin hit it off immediately. Erin says, “Throughout high school, college and starting our careers we have been by one another’s side for nearly ten years!”

Erin, you are stunning!

How He Asked

Erin knew something was up when Hugh had their entire Friday planned to perfection. He took her to her favorite sushi restaurant and had plans for them to meet up with all of their closest friends for a concert on Brown’s Island. While walking to Brown’s Island, Hugh got on one knee and said some beautiful things that Erin was too excited to quite remember and asked her to marry him. Erin, of course, said yes! She tells us, “The best part was we were able to be around our closest friends to celebrate!”

The Perfect Place

Erin says, “Hugh and I always wanted an outdoor wedding, and we needed somewhere that could hold both the ceremony and reception. Tuckahoe Plantation’s ceremony site is to die for! I knew that is where I wanted to say my I do’s, not to mention the grounds are absolutely breathtaking. It truly is a magical place.”

We love that Erin & Hugh kept the Southern tradition of burying the bourbon!  As you can see, it totally worked!

There were plenty of rustic elements at Hugh & Erin’s wedding, like their honey favors, framed burlap table numbers and lantern centerpieces, that perfectly matches the ambiance of Tuckahoe Plantation.  The colors, florals and lovely Chiavari chairs, however, kept their wedding feeling elegant and chic as well.
