Real Richmond Wedding: Lauren and Eric’s Intimate November Wedding
Lauren and Eric

How They Met
Lauren and Eric found each other in the middle of an… Applebees! Lauren was in the midst of a busy workday when she approached his table to take orders. Little did she know she would be meeting the love of her life. Lauren shared, “We met while I was his waitress, he gave me his phone number and we texted for a few days until our first date. It was love at first sight.” Their first date was at Bonefish Grill, but this time Lauren wasn’t taking orders, she was getting to know her future husband!
Eric asked the big question 8 years later. “We were vacationing in the outer banks. While walking in the evening on the beach with my family he popped the question!” From that day on, the rest was history.
When it came time to plan the wedding they knew they wanted everything to feel cozy. Bourbon barrels and lanterns complimented the rustic venue, while light and airy colors added brightness to the atmosphere. “Blush, ivory, taupe, sage and mauve. Since I did not have a bridal party, I wanted my guest to wear those colors so we had color coordinating guests!”
Foliage graced the venue and added a fresh feeling to their unique space. “The venue had a gorgeous fireplace and mantel so we decked that out with flowers and lanterns. During the ceremony, we had barrels flanking us with a huge flower arrangement on top. Behind us was a white backdrop with moss hanging and flower arrangements in the corners, very cozy.” Each table was classically dressed in white linen and a simple glass vase with flowers. For their dessert table, the desserts were laid out on mirror trays, adding a touch of elegance to their intimate dinner. Since the newlyweds weren’t the biggest fans of cake, they had unique sweet treats including, Oatmeal Cream Pies and brownies.
The ceremony, one of the parts Lauren wanted to WOW guests most, was very personal and written entirely by her. “Jason Elmore, a lieutenant at Chesterfield fire and EMS and the Public Information Officer, was our officiant. Vows were written by my husband and I, which we recited to each other.”
Their chilly, but cozy, night ended around a bonfire as Lauren and Eric started their new life together with 45 of their closest family and friends.
