Real RVA Wedding: Qian & Edwin
Qian & Edwin

Hey They Met
Qian says, “It was around wintertime, and a friend invited me over to a house party. When I arrived to the party, Edwin opened the door and greeted me with a warm smile. I’m not sure if it was “love at first sight,” but my heart was definitely beating faster than normal the first moment I saw him. I still remembered the blue shirt he wore that day. We talked a lot and had a great time. Afterward, he would invite me over to more of his house parties and we really got to know each other. After a couple of months, we started dating, and that’s when we knew we were perfect for each other.
How He Asked
When we first became an official couple, Edwin and I went with some friends to Virginia Beach for a weekend. After we arrived, Edwin insisted that we see the sunrise together by the beach. At the time, I”™ve never had the chance to see the sunrise by the beach and always wanted to see it. That morning, I was very tired and didn’t want to wake up. He knocked on my door and carried me to the beach. There, I got to experience the amazing sight of the sun rising over the shore. A year later, we went to the same beach for a weekend trip. When we got to see the sunrise again, he got on his knee and proposed and asked me to begin a new chapter with him.
The Perfect Place
I wanted a venue that was both relaxing and fun but also had beautiful natural scenery for the perfect wedding pictures. When we saw Dellwood Planation, there were a tremendous amount of green plants and flowers everywhere. I just knew it would be perfect for pictures! Also being an animal lover, Dellwood had a barn and horses, making the atmosphere extra fun.
I wanted a wedding that felt relaxing and fun but also romantic at the same time. I browsed Pinterest a lot for wedding decor ideas that would make the wedding a very fun place for everybody. I ended up picking peach and mint green because they were both light in color and blended really well with the greenery.
The WOW Factor
I wanted the venue and wedding dance to really WOW our guests. Those were by far the two things we spent the most time on. We wanted a venue that really made people feel like they were at a beautiful place. We also wanted our guests to remember the wedding dance as one of the highlights.
The Best Part
When the minister pronounced us husband and wife!! Edwin’s favorite was when I walked down the aisle. Our guests kept telling me how he had the biggest smile on his face when I walked down the aisle.
