What makes you or your business stand out and why should a couple hire you?
Our venue is as unique as it gets! Henricus Historical Park is a 17th-century living history museum that recreates one of the first English colonies in the New World. The site is full of recreated historic buildings, and we even have a small farm! We are located right on the James River, with awesome views.
What’s your favorite thing about working in the wedding industry?
My favorite thing is speaking with the couple at the end of the night and seeing how happy they are and appreciative of our services. It makes me feel like we did a job well done!
What’s a unique tip you tell your couples?
Always bring flats. You won’t regret it!
What’s your best piece of advice for couples planning a wedding?
Always consider what is included with every venue you look at. Some venues may be more DIY and include less in the cost, while other venues will be more full-service. There are pros and cons to each, depending on your vision.
What’s your favorite food/dish/cuisine?
Chinese, pizza, and burgers. I am currently trying to get around to every burger spot in Richmond!
If you were to meet any celebrity, who would it be?
Oh The Rock, definitely!
What would your perfect Saturday be like?
Hanging at the river.
Do you love to travel? If so, what are some must-see destinations?
Yes! If I could travel full-time, I would. I always tell people that they absolutely need to experience Iceland. It’s like a whole beautiful prehistoric world up there!
Do you have a pet? If so, what’s their name and what are they like?
Two pups names Turbo and Rocket. Turbo is excitable and anxious, Rocket is sassy and mouthy. There’s never a dull moment at home with them!
What is your most used emoji?
The crying and laughing emoji. I use that daily. 😂

Henricus Historical Park operates as a nonprofit, so all of the venue cost goes straight to our foundation. If you have your wedding with us, you’re helping us to keep history alive and continue to tell the story of Henricus to guests and school children.
