How did you get to where you are now?
I started my business as a hobby after a 30th high school class reunion. I decided to roll my hobby for putting smiles on people’s faces through sweets, into a business. And thus, The Candy Lady began in 2013.

What makes you or your business stand out and why should a couple hire you?
Each one of my sweets buffets, gift boxes, gift baskets, and treat bags is customized to fit the client’s taste. Once the client has shared their vision for their event, I design a buffet that accentuates and adds beauty and fun to the beautiful day. No two buffets are alike. Always custom, never duplicated.

What’s your favorite thing about working in the wedding industry?
I love meeting bubbling brides and their future spouses to discuss their vision for their day. I also love to see the expression on the couple’s faces when they enter into their venue and look at their sweets table with awe and joy. The sweets buffet is often the most featured item at the wedding, other than the bride and groom.

What’s a unique tip you tell your couples?
Choose sweets for your table that your guests will enjoy, not only you! You may like blueberry Twizzlers, but your guests may not. Also, keep climate in mind when planning outdoor weddings. It may be more feasible to have a popcorn or chips bar, than to have a candy bar with rich chocolates that will melt.
