What are RW Networking Events?
They are opportunities for anyone involved in the wedding industry to meet and network with others in your field, expand your business referrals, and see what different venues have to offer couples. Many successful long-term relationships have begun at Richmond Weddings meetings!
If I am new to the wedding business, what do I expect to get out of attending?
You will be welcomed into an extremely friendly and open group of vendors. You can speak with your peers, get to know new people, and make business referrals. We allow non-members to attend up to 2 events at the non-member fee before deciding to join.
If I have been in this business for a while, what can I expect to get out of a meeting?
Even as an established company or individual, there are always new opportunities for you to acquire additional business. It is important to keep your name out there as much as possible. People are more inclined to refer clients to you if they have met you in person. Also, in your busy schedule, you may see other vendors at a wedding, but do not get a chance to connect with one another and share ideas. These meetings give you that chance.
Who collects the fee?
The cost of attending these meetings goes to the venue and/or caterer hosting the event. It covers the rental of space, your meal, tax and tip (and sometimes drinks!). RW does not keep any portion of the fee.
Can I invite someone else?
Yes, feel free to invite whomever you wish. As long as it is not a conflict of interest for RW and they are not another media outlet there to solicit. Just make sure to add them to your RSVP as a non-member. We try to give the hosting venue as close to an exact count as possible.
What should I bring?
Bring plenty of business cards and/or brochures.
Do you take walk-ups?
No, we require you to register by our RSVP date.
