If you care to share, how did you get to where you are now? I have loved photography ever since I was a kid. I first fell in love with film photography and the process of the darkroom. I studied photography in college and earned my BFA. Going to school for photography made me kind of hate it for a while, and ended up walking away from the camera for a few years. After a few years as an event planner, I decided to jump back into photography full time and can not imagine doing anything else for the rest of my life!

What makes you or your business stand out and why should a couple hire you? I never want a couple to feel like clients. I always want them to feel like friends! I go above and beyond for all my couples to make this experience as fun and stress free as possible. I always bring dad jokes to get you smiling, will help you anyway I can (photography related or not) with your wedding and will be your biggest cheerleader along the way!

What’s your favorite thing about working in the wedding industry? There are many things about working in the wedding industry that are incredibly rewarding. My favorite has been the wonderful people I have met from all walks of life. I love building lasting and meaningful connections with so many amazing people!

What’s a unique tip you tell your couples? A wedding day can get very busy, stressful and often times feel like it’s rushing by. I always encourage my couples to plan a moment or two throughout the day where they can step out from all the festivities and just have a private minute together to take everything in, enjoy their day and spend one on one time together!

What’s your best piece of advice for couples planning a wedding? Make sure you focus on what makes the two of you happy! So many times people can get caught up in trying to please everyone else on their wedding day. While your family and friends are incredibly important both in your life and on your wedding day, when it comes down to it, the two most important people are you and your partner. Make sure to listen to each other, support one another along the way and make choices that will make you both happy. It is your wedding day, your love and your story, do what feels right for the both of you!

What’s your favorite food/dish/cuisine? I have too many to pick one! Any type of ethnic cuisine is always a go to!

What would your perfect Saturday be like? Going for a hike or a walk with my husband and son, and finishing the day with some tacos.

What are your top three favorite movies (or books)?

1. Dodgeball
2. Pride and Prejudice
3. A Walk to Remember

What’s a fun or unusual fact about you? My sister named me before my mom even knew she was pregnant. When my sister was 5 she walked up to my mom one day and put her hand on our Mom’s belly and said, “I have a baby sister in there and her name is going to be Kylie”. My Mom (who had just given birth to my brother a few months earlier) laughed off the encounter and didn’t think much more about it until she found out she was pregnant. The Doctors all said I was going to be a boy, so my parents started picking out boy names. My sister was insistent the entire time repeatedly telling them, “I’m going to have a baby sister and her name is going to be Kylie”. When I was born, my parents had NO girls names picked out so of course they had to name me Kylie after my sister’s favorite singer at the time: Kylie Minogue.

What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to? The best concert I’ve been to was also my first concert: Warped Tour 2008. I got to see all my favorite bands play!

Do you love to travel? If so, what are some must-see destinations? I LOVE traveling! I was born in South Africa and honeymooned there with my husband in 2016. I studied abroad in Florence, Italy and can’t wait to go back! I have also been to Mexico, Jamaica, Canada, England, France, and Monaco. I would love to travel to Germany, Austria, New Zealand, Iceland, Sweden, Japan, and so many more!

What is your favorite season of the year and why? I love the fall! Colder weather, beautiful colors everywhere, apple cider, pumpkin picking, busiest wedding months, family sessions, what more could you ask for!?

What’s your favorite family tradition? We listen to Queen while decorating our Christmas tree. Anytime I hear Bohemian Rhapsody I want to snuggle on the couch with hot cocoa and watch the Christmas lights!
