From a chance encounter at a Quinceañera for mutual friends, Kiara and Felipe’s story unfolded into a tale of enduring love, woven with unexpected twists and heartfelt moments.
Amidst the birthday festivities, their eyes locked, igniting a spark that set their destinies in motion. What began with a simple follow on social media soon blossomed into a cascade of text messages, until eventually the texts turned into a first date!
Fast forward some years later, Kiara planned their annual Christmas card photoshoot. As eager as she was to get engaged, she was caught off guard when turning the corner and seeing a sign that read, “Marry Me”. She quickly turned to Felipe and said, “Oh my gosh, look at that. Someone’s getting engaged!” Little did she know it was for her! He guided her to a heart made of rose petals and proposed. Friends and family surprised Kiara from behind the trees to help them celebrate.
The wedding day was a fairytale come to life. With Oakdale’s white, industrial, modern barn and the natural light beaming through the windows, this was the venue of their dreams. They had a bilingual wedding day to accommodate both sides of the family. Felipe got the party started by grabbing his cowboy hat and throwing rose petals as he walked out of the ceremony!
The two couldn’t have pictured a more perfect day. As a biracial couple, it was important to them to equally incorporate both cultures into the wedding.
Kiara and Felipe opted for a unique guest book that allowed their guests to pick up a telephone and record messages to listen to later on a vinyl record! They chose hand painted tiles from Mexico to act as the seating chart and party favor.
The whole building ended with dancing, singing, and celebrating a new beginning to forever. Kiara leaves all the newly engaged couples with this word of advice, “Soak in every moment of this time because before you know it, the wedding day will be here!
All the stress and worry will go away in time.”
