In the midst of a pandemic, both Layton and Morgan sought the help of dating apps to find love. In July of 2020, they both swiped right. Morgan wasn’t looking for anything serious, but after a week of talking, agreed to go on a date with Layton. They decided to meet at a brewery in Scott’s Addition and the connection was instant. They talked for hours and didn’t want the night to end. The couple shares, “We both went home and told our roommates, we had just met the person we were going to marry someday.”

After dating for two years, Layton and Morgan got their sweet pup Darcy, and moved in together, just steps from the location of their first date. Layton decided it was time to go ring shopping. He proposed at Libbie Hill on a Saturday afternoon. He managed to gather all their family and a few friends for the proposal, before surprising her with an engagement party shortly after.

Morgan and Layton went with an elegant and timeless wedding theme. They had attended plenty of weddings as guests and found that they truly valued the thought behind the small details. The couple even had a wedding logo which was printed on every detail possible. There were personal elements throughout the day designed by Morgan such as bar signage, cocktail stirrers, and programs printed on newspapers to share details and fun facts, . It created a fun way for guests to interact before the ceremony.

When asked about their favorite part of the day, Morgan shared, “Right before the ceremony, one of my bridesmaids played Dog Days Are Over by Florence + The Machine, and we had this giant dance party. It helped so much with the nerves and was one of the most surreal moments of my life.”

The entire day was exactly what they had pictured, although in Morgan’s words, “…nothing will ever beat seeing Layton for the first time. The emotions were so real, and it was such an intimate moment I will cherish forever. I was so on the fence about a first look, but I was so glad we did.”
