How They Met
KJ and Tre’sor first crossed paths in their college dining hall. Just two days later, fate brought them together again in an unexpected way when they saw each other in the library. What was meant to be a short conversation turned into KJ and Tre’sor talking well into the next day, sparking the beginning of their love story.
The Proposal
On April 30, 2022, KJ orchestrated a surprise proposal with 50 of their closest family and friends. With her mother’s help, who was to take her to a “Mother-Daughter Dance,” Tre’sor was led to the local Richmond venue. Seeing the outpouring of love, Tre’sor said “Yes!”
The WOW Factor
Tre’sor knew she wanted fireworks at her wedding since she was 11 years old after watching a bride on TLC end her nuptials with a spectacular fireworks show. So when KJ and Tre’sor toured the immaculate grounds of Mankin Mansion and learned that fireworks were an option, they were instantly sold. Not only was it a special moment for KJ and Tre’sor but a showstopper for their guests!
Ditching Tradition
KJ & Tre’sor decided to break from tradition and remove the garter and bouquet toss! Instead of rushing through these customary moments, they chose to focus on what really mattered to them: enjoying the moment with their loved ones. By skipping these traditional elements, they gained more time for dancing, laughter, and creating memories on the dance floor. It was all about prioritizing the fun and connection, and honestly, no one missed the tosses.
Advice From The Couple
Tre’sor and KJ’s advice to couples is to intentionally carve out moments for one-on-one time during the day. It’s very easy for the big day to become overwhelming. Taking a brief pause to reconnect with each other can make all the difference, allowing you to savor the day together amidst all of the excitement.
