Southern Charm Events and Planning

Southern Charm Events & Planning got started in 2013 after Amanda got married. Being a wedding planner was something that Amanda had always been interested in but a venture she just didn't know how to begin. On her wedding day, Amanda's mom was at the reception site setting everything up, not being able to spend time with Amanda or her bridesmaids while getting ready. She didn't get to see her mom until it was time to walk down the isle. Amanda says, "I decided after that, I don't want other brides to go through the same thing that I did. You need your mom and your family with you that day, not setting things up and then certainly not left cleaning up at the end of the night. You want everyone to be able to enjoy something that they have worked so hard for with their ideas, time, and money. Every bride deserves to feel like a Southern Belle on her wedding day, I want to be part of the reason that it happens."

Professional and like family!

Amanda is a dear friend, sorority sister of mine, and an excellent wedding coordinator. We decided to ask Amanda to assist us with day of coordination and she took care of everything for us. Amanda actually coordinated my older sister's wedding a couple of years ago and there was no question about hiring her again - like my mother says now, "She is family." It was really important to me that my family and friends were not rushing around trying to take care of wedding tasks the day before/day of. She not only took care of following up with vendors the couple of weeks leading up to the big day, directed the rehearsal/ceremony, set up the reception (all decorations, flowers, and cake decorations), worked with the DJ and photographer, but also even ran out to pick up an emergency item at the store for my mother! Without ever seeing the church or reception space prior (the wedding was held in NOVA and she is located in the Richmond area), she still was able to flawlessly put everything together. She is incredibly friendly and only wants to make the bride and groom happy. She was also able to delicately handle a confusing family dynamic for both my side of the family and my husband's side of the family. Please consider hiring her because she will be a blessing on your wedding day!

Richmond weddings take reviews seriously. Our vendors cannot pay to modify or remove reviews.
