Marina & Jordan

Marina and Jordan met in 2014 during beach week in Corolla, NC. One of Marina’s friends was cousins with Jordan’s friend, so the two groups – all recent graduates of rival high schools – wound up spending a lot of time together. After the trip, Marina had assumed she would never see anyone from the other group again since they were all attending different colleges in the fall. Thankfully, this was not the case at all! The two groups became inseparable, spending every college and summer break together thereafter.
Marina and Jordan became great friends during that time. Once they started dating in 2017, it didn’t take long for Marina to know he was the one. In April 2020, Jordan proposed on the dock at Swift Creek Reservoir, where they had spent countless summer days together.
Marina and Jordan had a traditional big fat Greek Wedding filled with culture and dancing. Their ceremony took place at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral and the reception was in the James River Ballroom at the Omni Richmond Hotel.
They had family and friends attend from all over the United States, so it was important for them to make sure their guests had fun – especially since it was one of the first big events for many since the pandemic.
What was Marina and Jordan’s favorite part of the day? The day was so perfect for us that it’s hard to pick our favorite part. We were so excited to marry each other that the whole day was a blessing. We wanted to soak in every moment and live every emotion of the day to the fullest. From getting ready, to taking pictures, to the ceremony, and to the reception and dancing, we will always cherish this day. We realized that it would be the one moment when everyone in our lives that we love would all be in one room together, celebrating us. That, in and of itself, was so touching.
