Tell us how many years have you been in the wedding industry.
I graduated from Virginia Tech in spring of 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations. I also studied event management during my time as a Hokie. I’ve always taken pride in my relationship building skills, so getting to work with clients to plan their big day at Maymont seemed like the perfect fit! Since August 2024, I’ve enjoyed getting to know Maymont and the wedding industry!
When should couples book their services with you?
We book weddings up to 18 months in advance, though many couples book closer to their date of choice. I recommend getting an early start for those peak spring and fall seasons!
What’s your most frequently asked question by engaged couples?
I get many questions on day-of coordination, and I always recommend having someone (even if it’s not a professional planner) dedicated to your wedding logistics and timeline for the big day. I also recommend giving this task to someone outside the wedding party because they are also busy the day of!
What are some trends you’ve seen in weddings recently that you’ve loved?
I really like the private “last dance” trend when all the guests have left (maybe to line up for a grand exit) and the couple gets to share a special moment just between them.
When it comes to food, what’s your guilty pleasure?
I love any restaurant that offers tapas or small plates! It’s the perfect way to try everything, because I can’t pick just one favorite food.
How do you de-stress?
If I am feeling overwhelmed, I resort to making Pinterest boards of things that inspire me: home décor ideas, recipes, future wedding ideas, etc. It gets my mind off of whatever is stressing me out and gets me looking forward to the future. A chat with my mom is also a quick remedy!
What are you reading right now?
I am currently reading Beneath a Scarlet Sky by Mark T. Sullivan. I find historical fiction books from the WWII time period so fascinating and moving.
