Real Richmond Wedding | Jolinda and Will at Lavender Hill

Jolinda & Will
May 15, 2022

Who knew a baby shower could lead to finding your husband? Jolinda was chatting during a friend’s shower that led to a conversation about dating in Richmond. She was encouraged to meet some of the players on the Richmond Lions rugby team. Little did she know she would soon meet her forever person.

After good conversation and chance meetings over the next few years, the universe led them both out dancing one night. Jolinda made her move by asking Will to dance. Will’s moves sealed the deal, and he invited Jolinda to a potluck the following day! Love was in the air, and they kept up a weekly tradition consisting of dinner and Game of Thrones.

As a couple, they have learned to continue to learn and grow. They’ve watched hours of sports, traveled to many locations, moved in together, switched jobs, survived the pandemic, and so much more. All while supporting each other through injuries, sickness, pet catastrophes and the loss of loved ones. Their relationship allows for space to grow and explore things they enjoy on their own, but they always make time to connect.

On Jolinda’s birthday every year, they take a week-long vacation. In 2021 they took their yearly trip this time to St. Augustine, FL where Will was planning to ask her to spend forever with him. He returned from fishing, “put things into his fishing bag”, lay down beside her where she was journaling on the sand, and asked the big question!

Their magical day was spent in nature accompanied by close friends and family. Jolinda always dreamed of going the more non-traditional route when it came to her gown. She opted for a beautiful pale blue-gray gown that surely set the tone and feeling for the rest of the decor —-calm, celebratory, and unrushed.

The big day was filled with enjoying each other’s company, eating tasty food, and celebrating the start of forever. Jolinda recalls some of her favorite parts of the day, “Holding my Dad’s hand before we walked down the aisle. Looking into Will’s eyes and hearing the birds chirping while we said our vows, and watching our friends and family from all different parts of our lives connect and vibe at the reception.” The newlyweds were thankful for a top-notch local vendor team to help bring the day together.
