Emma and Cole at The Quirk Hotel

May 24th, 2025
Emma and Cole’s love story began with a swipe. They matched on Tinder just two days before the start of their junior year of college and planned a first date at a restaurant in their college town. From the moment they met in person, something clicked. Dinner turned into hours of effortless conversation, and later that night they joined his friends for a bonfire. Long after the fire burned out and everyone else went home, the two of them stayed, talking under the stars. It didn’t take long to realize they had found something lasting.

Three years later, after graduating, beginning their careers, and settling into a new town together, Cole planned a proposal that felt completely true to them. On June 9, 2024, he brought Emma to the waterfront in Alexandria for a day filled with their favorite things: great food, beautiful views, drinks, and card games. As they stood overlooking the water, he asked her to spend forever with him. It was, in her words, the easiest yes of her life.
Their wedding day reflected that same intentionality. With just 21 guests, Emma and Cole chose to keep their celebration intimate, allowing them to truly soak in every moment. Held at Quirk Hotel, the day embraced the venue’s colorful personality. Their vision was simple yet meaningful: bright, sentimental, natural, joyful, and floral.

Instead of traditional separate reception tables, they opted for one long dinner table, creating the feeling of a cozy family gathering rather than a formal event. Laughter echoed as guests shared a meal together, celebrating not just a marriage but two families joining as one. After dinner, everyone made their way to the rooftop bar to watch the sunset over the city, a perfectly relaxed ending to a heartfelt day.

Their favorite moment came during the ceremony as they read personal vows to one another. Emma admits she was nervous to speak in front of everyone, but once she stood across from Cole, it felt like they were the only two people in the room. There were tears, laughter, and the kind of quiet intimacy that defines a truly meaningful wedding day.
