Erin & Michael
September 17, 2022
Ever heard about falling in love with your friend’s brother? While it took some time for Michael and Erin to find their way back to each other, they eventually got their happily ever after! Erin had grown up with one of Michaels’s sisters, so given they knew each other for a long time. They eventually went their separate ways until Erin moved back to Goochland after she completed graduate school. They reconnected, went on one date in November of 2016, and the rest is history, as Erin says. They’ve, “been inseparable ever since”
The proposal was a perfect blend of fall at the beach, Michael gathered his planning committee and got to work! (AKA Erins Matron of Honor and her husband) Erin was staring in absolute awe for what felt like forever to Michael until she uttered the word… YES!
The two said their “I do”‘s at Running Mare Farm under a hay hoop arbor in front of the lake. They even included their fur baby, Drake as the “Dog of Honor”! The venue alone was breathtaking so these two opted to keep the decor minimal and aimed to enhance Running Mare’s charm. The reception was filled with speeches, dancing, dinner, drinks, dessert, and more dancing! Michael and Erin shared a last dance before everybody sent them off with glow sticks! The newlyweds wanted to make sure guests has fun and didn’t leave hungry! The DJ kept the energy alive the entire night and the food could NOT have been better! They even had an ice cream truck by Gelati Celest, I mean what a dream!
If Erin had to choose, her favorite part was getting to share a moment together during their no-peak first look. They stood back to back, held hands, and exchanged cards. Erin said being able to hold Michaels’s hand gave her a sense of calm before walking down the aisle! Michael says he really enjoyed heading up to the bridal suite post-ceremony and watching the guests enjoy each other’s company. It let them soak in the moment and be alone with each other to appreciate the moment of them finally being married!
Erin and Michael want to say to all the couples reading this, remember that the most important thing for your wedding says is that you’re going to be marrying the love of your life, things may not go exactly as planned, but at the end of the night, everything will be worth it.
