Tzeira + Allen

How they met
It all started on online! Allen noticed Tzeira via a mutual friend on Facebook and messaged her privately. He said “she had a beautiful and friendly face.” It was not until years later that they would meet in person. On their first date they got pedicures and went to dinner. Tzeira recalls “When we walked in to get our pedicures the woman at the front desk asked “is your husband getting a pedicure also?” I responded with “yes ma’am he is but he is actually not my husband…this is our first date.” She smiled and responded with I’m sure he will be your husband one day.”
About the proposal
In December 2019 they went to Kings dominion WinterFest with Tzeira’s mother, two of her siblings, and Allen’s two daughters. One their way out Allen wanted to take a picture in front of the huge tree that Tzeira admired earlier. This caught Tzeira off guard because Allen did not like taking pictures. Much to her surprise, he got down one one knee and proposed!
Wedding and reception details
The men were dapper in their navy suits and the bridesmaids wore blush with gold accents. Tzeira loves lilies, so her bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets consisted of lilies, roses, and hydrangeas. The tables adorned floating votive candles in beautiful vases with hydrangeas. The rest of the decor was simple, yet elegant with white table clothes and blush napkins, all highlighted by the uplighting at the venue. During cocktail hour the couple chose crab cake bites, Korean chicken skewers, and a fruit and cheese tray. The dinner was a choice of fried boneless chicken breast with collards or steak with mixed vegetables.
Favorite part of the day
Tzeira: My favorite part was the reception. I love to dance and have a good time. Allen enjoyed the reception as well, but one of his special moments was at the ceremony when he saw our beautiful daughters, then me right behind them. He said it took so much for him not to tear up.
What was the biggest challenge you faced in planning your wedding?
Our original wedding date was April 4, 2020. At that time there was a government restriction of no more than 10 people and our guest list was 200. We had to think quick and postpone our wedding and cut down our guest list significantly. It was hard to decide on a new date and it we also hard to decide who to take off the list.
