Jess + Eric
September 5, 2020
Jess and Eric met at work in Tennessee. Eric tells us Jess blew him off at first, but finally agreed to hang out “as friends”. After seeing each other more and more, they started dating.
Three years later, Eric proposed to Jess. The two were hiking at the same place they visited on their one year anniversary – Roan Mountain. Although it was four hours away, Eric went out a couple of weeks before their planned trip and scoped out a proposal location. During their hike when they arrived at the desired location Eric says there were too many people around, so they continued further up the mountain for more privacy. He finally found the perfect spot and popped the question.
With their wedding date being in the middle of a pandemic, the guest list had to be cut. Fortunately they were able to keep their venue and all of the other vendors lined up. It was the first micro wedding at Chrysler Museum of Art. The couple tells us “our main goal when we started the planning process was to serve great food, have fun dancing the night away, have a venue that provided something for all our guests to enjoy, have colorful florals and lighting to enhance the venue and have a fun exit (cue sparklers!). We didn’t want so much of a wow factor as we wanted an overall fun time that was enjoyed not only by ourselves but by all our guests. The hardest part was not being able to celebrate with everyone we had hoped could be there. We were so lucky with the vendors we had chosen, it really made us grateful.””
When asked to recall their favorite part of the day…
“This is a very cliche answer, but the whole day was great, it goes by so quickly and there are so many small and large moments that are special for various reasons that neither of us can pick just one favorite moment or part.”
