Know your budget. Be prepared for your venue to cost up to 40% of your total budget. Don’t be afraid to ask if venues have adapted their packages or minimums to meet current market demand and governmentmandated restrictions.

Request a tour. When you make an appointment to visit a venuebe as flexible as possibleOftentimes weekends are event days and tour staff may be limited. Most places do not allow walk-ins, so always call before visiting so the venue can fully accommodate you and your needs. It is always good practice to let the host know if you cannot make the appointment so schedules can be adjusted accordingly.

Come with a list of questions. Be prepared to maximize your time during your tour. A list of musthaves or deal-breakers would also be a good idea. Venues have an array of resources to accommodate most wants and needs.

Ask about the rental period. Be sure to ask about the amount of time allocated for your event and be realistic about how long preparations and decorating may take, as well as clean up. Many places charge a fee for going over the allotted time.

Read your contract. Once you have found your dream venue, and you decide to book, get a hard copy of the executed agreement, and read through it carefullyBear in mind that due to COVID-19, there are specific conditions with regards to cancelling, postponing, adjusting guest count, and more.

Keep an open mind. Remember that all the venues you are considering may not work for your wedding, but they could be great options for bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, and bridal photoshoots!

Together with our help you can go to your wedding venue tour prepared! Happy Planning!
