Taylor + Antonio
October 11, 2020
How they met
Taylor and Antonio first met as students at VCU sitting next to each other in a political science class. “Antonio was always joking with me and we would walk to the parking deck together.” Antonio finally asked Taylor on a date to tea at Rostov’s and dinner at Little Mexico. “We closed the place down!”
The proposal
Antonio popped the question Memorial Day weekend in Old Town Occoquan. Taylor says, “We were on the dock as the sun was going down and a crowd from a nearby restaurant was watching. Once I said yes they cheered for us! This spot was special to us as went spent a lot of time there when we were dating. Our dog Riley was also with us for the occasion.”
Wedding details
The theme was classic with a rustic and southern twist. The pair wanted all of the guests to feel welcome and at home. The “WOW factors” were the drinks and food! “Hanover Tavern helped us create custom cocktails that were amazing!”
Favorite parts of the day
“Our first look! The day was filled with so much anticipation as for awhile, we were not sure if our wedding would even happen due to COVID precautions. We immediately gave each other a huge hug.”
What was the biggest challenge you faced in planning your wedding?
“Definitely COVID. Things died down quite a bit in October 2020 but we wanted to make sure everyone was as safe as possible.”
Anyone else you’d like to mention?
“Tammy Anderson is the Events Manager at Hanover Tavern. She was INCREDIBLE to work with and made sure everything ran smooth on our special day.”
What is your best piece of advice for couples reading this?
“Don’t sweat the small stuff. Your wedding day will be incredible and even if every detail is not absolutely perfect, it is totally fine! Just live in the moment.”
