Meet Our January 2015 Cover Couple!
When we saw PW Photography’s photo of Julie & Tim on the steps of the Capitol, we knew it was the perfect cover image for our Spring 2015 issue! Meet Julie & Tim, everyone!

How They Met
On Cinco de Mayo, 2012, Julie & Timothy were set up on a blind couple’s date by their friends, Chris and Liz. (Julie worked with Liz and Timothy with Chris.) They definitely hit it off – it was a twelve hour long first date! The four of them visited two different wineries and had a night full of dancing.
How He Asked
On July 19th, 2013, the day before Tim’s birthday, he asked Julie to be ready for a surprise outing by 10:00AM. When 10:00 came, Tim gave her a white envelope that said, “Julie Goode, you are about to go on a special mission. Gather the items that this letter indicates and meet me by 11:00AM or I will be gone forever.” Julie says, “In the blink of an eye he was out the door, and I frantically started ripping the envelope open. It told me to grab the bottle of wine that was in the refrigerator and head to the address provided. We had purchased this bottle at a wine tasting event several months before and had joked about how we would drink it on our engagement day. Needless to say, I knew what was up and that I was about to begin one of my all time favorite activities — a scavenger hunt!” The hunt took Julie to a florist, a cupcake shop and finally to Maymont Park where Tim was waiting with a horse drawn carriage. Julie says, “Once we got to the terrace, Tim got down on one knee and began the most thoughtful and loving speech a girl could imagine. All I could do was stare into his eyes as my eyes flooded with tears. The funniest thing was that a large group of kids were standing up on a hill watching us. I could hear their counselors quieting them down, but once I said yes and Tim got up to kiss me, they broke out into a huge roar of cheers. This day is one that will never be forgotten!”
The Perfect Place
The Jefferson Hotel was the perfect choice for Timothy & Julie’s southern wedding. Julie says, “The Jefferson took care of almost everything. Trish Brinkley, the wedding coordinator there, was incredible! We still keep in touch.”
Each guest got a maraca to shake during the couple’s grand exit. How fun is that?!
The Main Event
Timothy and Julie kept the focus on fun for their wedding. They took months of dance classes to get their first dance just right and even had a wedding painter travel from Charleston to paint the first dance! They also provided late nigh snacks of mini corn dogs and tater tots to make sure their guests had the energy to keep the dance party going.
