Bailey and Liam

Bailey and Liam: a modern-day love story. It all started with a ‘like’ on an incoming freshman Facebook page for Christopher Newport University. This turned into a follow on every other social media platform all within 5 minutes! Follows on social media were quickly followed by Liam asking for Bailey’s phone number. They talked every single day on the phone leading up to their meeting in person.
Liam was on the football team at CNU, which means he was also in charge of moving in freshmen on welcome week. Fate struck when he was randomly assigned to Bailey. He wasted no time asking her to be his girlfriend. Fate didn’t work out exactly how Liam had thought when her answer was no – they had just met! The rejection didn’t discourage Liam. He continued to ask, which lead to more noes from Bailey, until their first date at a Mexican restaurant where Liam received his long-awaited, “yes”!
Bailey and Liam share a love for Spain since that’s where they both studied abroad, so it only made sense that they took a trip back for their five-year anniversary. Halfway through the trip, they decided to spend an afternoon in Bailey’s favorite park. This was when she knew something was up — not just because it’s a beautiful spot, but also because Liam didn’t say a single word the entire day (the nerves were building up!). Once they arrived at the park, he hit record, propped his phone up on a half empty water bottle and asked the big question. She (thankfully) said “yes” the first time he asked!
For the venue, the newly engaged wanted somewhere people could stay overnight and have the option to walk everywhere. They chose the historic, intimate Linden Row Inn! Bailey walked down the aisle to the theme song of one of their favorite rom com’s, About Time. Both ended up saying the exact same movie quote in their vows (total tear-jerking, giddy moment). In the charming courtyard with their guests, the newlyweds danced the night away to hit after hit. The couple recalls, “it was almost impossible to stop dancing because of how good the music was!”
