How the met/the proposal
Juliana and Brandon found each other on Tinder in 2014. After messaging for about a month, they decided to meet in person. Their first date ended with a kiss on the canal walk. It was only fitting that he would one day propose at this same location. The day started with a scavenger hunt at some of their favorite spots around the city with family members at each location leading them to the next. Brandon was waiting for her at the end with a proposal.
The wedding
Linden Row was where the two decided to get married. “We loved that it was tucked away in the heart of Richmond. The venue has so much character to it and really feels like an escape from Richmond, while still being in the city. Getting married in Richmond was very important to us because of everything the city means to our relationship.” It was a beautiful fall day with leaves falling while they recited personal vows. During the reception, Brandon surprised Juliana with a private getaway to the top floor of the venue with a favorite bottle of wine. Juliana recalls, “we snuck away during the reception to have an intimate moment with just us.”
Wow factor
“The venue. Most of the wedding was set up to wow us more than anything else!”
Favorite part of the day
“The best part for both of us is when we first saw each other as I walked down the aisle. Roslyn by Bon Iver and St. Vincent was playing in the background. Everything was just so perfect in that moment.”
Biggest challenge
“Weather. Everything was outdoors. We had to make a call on whether or not we needed a tent. Leading up to the big day rain was in the forecast, so we were freaking out a bit. But the weather ended up being perfect!”
