If you want to sell the dress you’ve only worn once or find the designer gown of your dreams AND within your budget, Bliss Bridal Consignment is the place for you!  We are proud to introduce you to one of the kindest people we know and the owner of Bliss Bridal, Jessica.  She will make you feel like the most important person in the room!

Tell us a little about your company!

Bliss is Richmond’s only bridal consignment boutique offering a full service salon experience at excellent prices. Our brides do not have to sacrifice quality or a dreamy dress shopping experience because of a limited budget. We have a large inventory of new, sample and once worn designer gowns and accessories all at discounted prices. We also offer full service tuxedo rentals with designer names like Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Tony Bowls and more at excellent prices.
How did you get started in this business?

While watching “Say Yes to the Dress” one evening, it occurred to me that people spend a great deal of money on their wedding gowns, and there is no real after market (at least in Richmond) in which to recoup some of their investment. After doing some research, we realized that the consignment bridal model was working in other areas and we decided that Richmond needed that option, too! Thus, Bliss Bridal was born.

What differentiates you from other businesses in your field?

Our mission statement at Bliss is simple: Honor God and love everyone who walks through the door. We truly love helping brides and grooms find the perfect apparel for their special day. We do not work on commission, so we stay focused on helping brides find that perfect dress at the price they want to pay. Excellent service is our number one goal. We can’t sell a gown 100% of the time, but we can sell the experience 100% of the time. We also help people recoup some of their investment by consigning their gowns and accessories and finding a new bride to love them. We love being referred to as the “green” bridal shop.

Why do you like working with weddings?

Because it is the one of the few industries where your clients hug you after you have helped them.

What is the most difficult situation you have faced with a bride and how did you resolve it?

Weddings are very emotional times, and sometimes things happen and the bride wants to return a gown that she no longer needs. While there are no returns in bridal, we can offer to consign her gown and help her recoup some of her investment.

From a vendor’s perspective, what is the one best piece of advice you can offer to engaged couples?

Have fun and enjoy this process – it is once in a lifetime and exciting. Don’t waste it sweating the small stuff!

What or who motivates you?

My staff – they are amazing women who truly love what they do and love Bliss as much as I do. We celebrate the highs together and are constantly learning new things in customer service, the products and business in general. This group makes me look forward to coming to work every day!

What do you like to do when you are away from work?

I’m never away from work. Ha Ha – I like to cook, hang out with my husband, kids and ill-behaved pets and shop consignment, of course!

What would we be surprised to learn about you?

I was a mathlete in high school and an art major in college. Go Hokies!
