The Road to Your Wedding Day
By Thomas Waters with The Renaissance
Of all the things to think about while you are preparing for your big day, it seems that transportation is one that is usually kicked to the curb. While it may not seem that important at first, transportation is something you’ll want to consider (and budget for) early on in your planning process.
With wedding planning growing by leaps and bounds, there are many wonderful options to consider when looking for a ride to your ceremony, reception, or even to your after-party. Here are some fun things to think about:
Some couples like to hire transportation early in the morning to take them to their first stop of the day. If it has always been your dream to be chauffeured around to your first location to get ready or to just have an early morning coffee break, there are businesses that cater to that need. Maybe consider hiring a limousine or a town car to get you from your starting point to the ceremony spot. Who wants to worry about things like, “How do I get to the ceremony?” or, “Who is driving?” Plus, there is the added benefit of being treated like a star!
Arriving at the Reception
Of all the times to hire transportation this is the most popular, and arguably the most important one! Hiring a fancy car, trolley, or even a stretch SUV is so popular that most companies will run out of vehicles during popular wedding months. Yet another reason to book early! Sitting in your luxurious limo while popping the cork on a delicious bottle of champagne is something everyone should do at least once in their life. Be sure to call around and investigate prices before booking. Most companies will have minimums or different rates for the time of day, month, or year that you are getting married.
Leaving the Reception
This is where you can really make some memories to take with you forever. Most newlywed couples can tell you there is just something satisfying at that special point in the evening when they walk out from their reception as a newly married couple to applause, bubbles, and camera flashes while stepping into their car, limo, or even a horse-drawn carriage. This could be one of the most memorable times of your wedding day so be sure to do your homework and get all the details in place for this special moment.
You will be pleasantly surprised at how many incredible options there are for you to discover when getting from Point A to Point B. Now you just need to make it happen! Never hesitate to ask your planner or venue coordinator. They will more than likely already have plenty of contacts for you. Budget and plan for your transportation early so you can get there and leave in style!
