How did you get to where you are now?
My route to weddings and events is a long and winding road. Along the way, I have worked in video games, computer software, social media and marketing, and business to business account management. I’ve lived all over the world, I speak fluent Spanish, was raised in Mexico, and as a side hustle, I’m a part-time ballet teacher.
What makes you or your business stand out and why should a couple hire you?
We are a family-owned family-run business. Our couples become part of The Virginia Cliffe Inn family, many of them return to celebrate their anniversary here by staying in our Bed and Breakfast. We bring class and Southern charm to weddings in a gorgeous natural setting, with a turn of the century mansion that provides an impressive backdrop. Our gardens and spectacular grounds offer multiple photo opportunities and a memorable day for the bride and groom and their guests.

What’s your favorite thing about working in the wedding industry?
I always enjoy hearing about a couple’s vision for their day. I like to hear about the individual plans, and I always ask them if there are any absolute no-nos for their wedding day.
What’s a unique tip you tell your couples?
I remind them that a wedding rehearsal is a very good idea for a large group because timing is key, and many people don’t remember how to walk when they are faced with high heels and music and lots of people watching them!
What’s your best piece of advice for couples planning a wedding?
Do not try to do it all yourselves! Delegate jobs to your groomsmen and bridesmaids, use a venue planner and a wedding planner if you can. It helps alleviates the stress!
What’s your favorite moment during a wedding?
Speeches are always interesting, as you often learn extra tidbits about a couple.
What are your favorite wedding trends right now?
Blinged out bridal crocs! The classic blue that Pantone I have decided is the color of the year.
How do you de-stress?
Yoga and ballet, walking my dog, cooking.
What’s your favorite food/dish/cuisine?
I love really good French food.
What would your perfect Saturday be like?
Attending a 90-minute ballet class, then home to shower, walk my dog, and probably spend the afternoon with my boyfriend hunting down elusive vinyl albums in some of Richmond’s many record shops.
What’s a fun or unusual fact about you?
I’m British and I trained to be a ballet dancer.
What’s the coolest thing you’re working on now?
Not sure if this is cool or not…I just pulled together as a submission for SWaM Certification for The Virginia Cliffe Inn.
Do you love to travel? If so, what are some must-see destinations?
Rio De Janeiro, Barcelona, Florence, Monument Valley, Utah, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, London, Paris, Edinburgh, Seattle, Panama City, Panama.
Do you have a pet?
Maggie, my 14-year-old adopted dog.
