What makes you or your business and why should a couple hire you?
As the newest Bow Tied DJ, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Ever since joining Bow Tied Weddings, I’ve been really blown away. This isn’t just a business, we are one big family or #BowTiedFamily as we like to say. We want to create lasting friendships with our couples which makes their experience’s memorable. On a personal standpoint, I’ve been told I have a quite the contagious personality to get everybody excited and happy. I care a lot about my couples and become great friends with all of them. I want everything to be perfect and unforgettable for the guests, but most importantly the couple that I have the honor to direct their music and ceremony.
What’s your favorite thing about what you do?
I think my favorite thing about what I do is I get to be myself. My personality is very positive and really outgoing, so I get to transfer that energy to each and every wedding. Weddings are a very exciting environment and it makes me happy to be a part of that every day.
How did you get to where you are now?
It took a lot of trial and error to really get me to where I am now. I believe there’s always progress if there is failure because you can learn from your mistakes. Before joining Bow Tied Weddings, I didn’t have much experience entertaining weddings. After extensive training and shadowing numerous weddings, I became accustomed to what the Bow Tied brand is.
What’s something every couple should know before getting married?
The wedding day itself will go by really fast. You’re going to want to stay hydrated so you can enjoy everything going on, so drink plenty of water! Whatever you do don’t stress and enjoy your big day to the fullest. Most importantly remember you’re making memories that will last a lifetime!
What’s your go-to spot to eat in RVA?
Ah, you’ve found my weakness. FOOD! Richmond has so many good places to eat so this one is tough. Though, if I had a go-to spot in RVA it would definitely be Croaker’s Spot. The best soul food in town and some of the best cornbread you’ll ever have!
What did you want to be when you were little?
When I was little, I wanted to be a comedian or an actor. I always loved to put a smile on someone’s face or make them laugh. I realized this back when I was a freshman in high school. I gave myself a motto which was making the world a happier place one day at a time. I truly do stick by that and try to impact someone’s day positively every day.
What do you like to do when you’re away from work?
I’m a big sports fanatic so anything sports-related you’ll find me at my happiest. I enjoy my time with friends and family, but I’m always up for random adventures. I love to travel and see new places which is why I love what I do because I get to see different venues throughout Virginia.
What’s your newest Netflix obsession?
I recently started watching The Boys and it is by far one of the best superhero series I’ve ever seen! If you want a binge-worthy TV show then look no further. The first episode alone will have you hooked and you have my word!
What’s your go-to dance move?
Oh, you want to talk about dance moves? Don’t even get me started! I’m one person you’ll find on the dance floor from beginning to end. Let’s just say I like to mix it up depending on the song. I can go from fist-bumping the air to grabbing a partner and hitting the salsa like nobody’s business. I’m a fun individual, to say the least, so if you ever get the chance to see me on the dance floor then just enjoy the show.
