How did you get to where you are now?
Believe it or not, I never had an interest in makeup but makeup decided to take an interest in me! After college I started wearing it more regularly and really loved the way it made me look and feel. It helped me relax and boosted my confidence. I decided to start practicing on friends and family and eventually people were hiring me to do makeup for weddings, events, photoshoots and more. I took the opportunity by the horns and added additional services such as personal shopping, private lessons, and group classes.

What makes you or your business stand out and why should a couple hire you?
Getting your makeup done should be an experience. It’s more than just makeup. I believe my clients deserve to be pampered and treated like the royalty they are. It’s important to me to educate as well as encourage others on their personal skincare and makeup journey. Couples should hire me because they won’t have to worry about looking like a different person on the wedding day. My goal is always to elevate and accentuate natural features so that you experience “your skin but better”.

What’s your favorite thing about working in the wedding industry?
It’s the FEELS for me! I just love all of the emotions and energy involved in the journey up to the wedding day. It’s the excitement, joy, fun, all of the positivity around the entire experience. I just get so wrapped up in all of it.

What’s a unique tip you tell your couples?
Book your beauty team early! Don’t forget about male grooming. Everyone should look seamless and cohesive for the pictures and makeup is the perfect solution to help the photographer avoid tons of retouching.

What’s your best piece of advice for couples planning a wedding?
Ask your vendors for their insight! Especially if you haven’t hired a wedding planner. Ask them what they’ve seen, what do other couples do, etc. Your vendors have been in the industry for YEARS and may be able to help you save time and money.

What’s your favorite moment during a wedding?
Since I’m with the bride, or groom and wedding party during the day getting ready, my favorite moment is when everyone is relaxed and hanging out in their PJs or robes. All the energy is just building up for the day, champagne is flowing, music is on, and everyone is just enjoying themselves before showtime.

How do you de-stress?
I love self care. I will take an entire day off to do all the things that make me feel pampered an at ease (pedicure, facial, eating good food, and doing absolutely NOTHING!)

What’s your favorite food/dish/cuisine?
Southern Macaroni and Cheese is EVERYTHING! Everybody can’t make it the way I like it but I love when it’s made with a cheese sauce and baked in the oven then topped with bread crumbs.

What’s a fun or unusual fact about you?
My background is in Accounting. I love formulas, spreadsheets, financial statements, and all things nerdy number. I love that it has absolutely nothing to do with makeup. It’s like another side of me that I get to tap into.

What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
I still remember the Kanye West Glow in the Dark tour from 2008. It was literally Spectacular. It was in the middle of a tornado warning, pouring rain in the amphitheater but it was the coolest concert with the craziest special effects I’ve ever seen

What is your most used emoji?
I overuse the crying emoji. I think millennials killed this one but I don’t care. I literally use it like every day because I laugh so hard at everything.
