Vendor Spotlight: Casey McNutt with Magnolia Green Golf Club
Meet Casey McNutt, Director of Sales for Magnolia Green Golf Club. For Casey, getting to know people, especially newlyweds, is the most inspiring part of her job. Whether it’s a beautiful ceremony you’re looking for or a place to tee off, Magnolia Green is perfect for your vision.
What makes you and your business stand out and why should a couple hire you?
We truly connect with you on a personal level to deliver the best service possible. We don’t just become the place you’re having your wedding at, we become your go-to through the process.
What’s a weird/unusual tip you tell your couples?
It’s not weird or unusual, but I always remind them to enjoy every single moment. Too often do couples end up getting lost in the chaos, stress, and planning that they forget to stop and just enjoy it all.
How did you get to where you are now?
I was very fortunate to work my way up in a limited service hotel straight out of high school. The Front Desk role led me to Front Desk Management, Sales and eventually a dual role maintaining Sales and taking over General Manager roles. When I left that facility I wound up in the Downtown Richmond Market doing group room sales for a full-service hotel. I took on the SMERF segment and had the pleasure of working with blocks for reunions, social blocks such as weddings, entertainment, religious and fraternal. In the Spring of 2016, I was offered the chance to move my career to the Golf Club and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’m responsible for memberships, outings, and all the weddings and events in our brand new facility! We’re a full-service restaurant and golf course that’s open to the public!
What’s something every couple should know before getting married?
Planning can be stressful but it’s so worth it!
What’s your go-to spot to eat in RVA?
Our restaurant, The Grille, is quickly becoming one of my favorites from Lunch and Supper is a close second! As well as Boathouse and Casa Del Barco.
What did you want to be when you were little?
A Journalist or English Teacher.
What was your first job?
Working the ride photo at Kings Dominion.
What did you eat for breakfast this morning?
What do you like to do when you are away from work?
Socialize – surprise, surprise! Lots of trips to Louisa (my hometown) and a lot of relaxing too because I commute about 100 miles a day. (New Kent to Chesterfield then on my off time to Louisa – all about an hour away from each other!) I love concerts, traveling, singing (poorly), and shopping. Of course.
Where is your happy place?
Bold Rock Cidery.
What’s the coolest thing you’re working on now?
Planning my own wedding!
Nachos. What would you put on yours?
The. Works. Cheese, queso, salsa, gauc, shredded chicken, sour cream, and cooked veggies!!
