Matt was Luisa’s very first Tinder date. They met up at a restaurant in Carytown on July 2nd, 2018, and immediately hit it off. Fast forward 2 months and one date to the VMFA later, Mark asked Luisa to be his girlfriend!
After almost 3 years of dating and a full year of living together, Matt and Luisa had talked about rings, which made Luisa on high alert. On March 20, 2021, Matt took Luisa to her favorite restaurant, and she thought this was the moment. When it wasn’t, she was grumpy on the car ride back. Matt and Luisa finally arrived at home when Matt mentioned something weird is going on in the backyard. Luisa begrudgingly went to check it out and saw a beautifully lit up path to a heart outlined with tea lights and rose petals. Next to the heart was a table with Luisa’s favorite Virginia sparking wine and cupcakes that read “marry me” on it. They walked to the center of the heart, and Matt got down on one knee and asked Luisa to marry him, to which she happily and tearfully said “Yes!”
Their wedding was everything they dreamed of. The recepton was held in the marble room, allowing the guests to walk and marvel around the nearby exhibits. The couples favorite part was the wedding ceremony. The pastor, Lynn Turner, incorporated the words they had told her about one another in the ceremony which left Matt and Luisa teary eyed!
