Cameron and Ethan in Richmond, Virginia

June 7, 2025

How They Met
Cameron and Ethan’s love story began in the most classic of places: freshman year math class. As it turns out, that wouldn’t be the only classroom they’d share. The two were also in orchestra together, Cameron on violin and Ethan on bass. Ethan also played trumpet in the band, but his mom loves to joke that he picked up the bass just so he’d have an excuse to talk to Cameron during rehearsal. Their relationship grew right alongside their studies, carrying them all the way through college, even when they found themselves at rival schools. Ethan headed to UVA to study computer science and trumpet performance, while Cameron pursued civil engineering at Virginia Tech. (Yes, a true family rivalry!) Despite the distance, the two made it work, logging plenty of miles along I-81 to visit each other.

The Proposal
Fast forward to February 2024, when Cameron and Ethan escaped to Staniel Cay in the Bahamas for a family vacation. During their trip, the two set out on a hike to their favorite spot on the island. Surrounded by turquoise waters and island views, Ethan got down on one knee and asked Cameron to spend forever with him. After she said yes, the newly engaged couple made their way back to celebrate with their family at the island bar!

The Wedding Day
Cameron and Ethan envisioned a wedding day that felt fun, classic, and warm, like something straight out of a ’90s rom-com. Somehow, it turned out even more magical than they imagined. With a 90% chance of thunderstorms in the forecast, the week leading up to the wedding brought plenty of nerves. But when the day arrived, not a single drop of rain fell. Cameron believes it was her Aunt Stacy watching over them. The setting made the celebration even more meaningful. The couple chose to marry at Ethan’s grandparents’ home, the very first place they lived together after college. They spent six months there building the foundation of their life as a couple, gathering around campfires, fishing in the pond, and playing music together when the internet frequently went out.

A Personal Touch
Cameron and Ethan infused their wedding day with details that felt unmistakably “them.” Cameron even coined her side of the aisle the “Bridesbros,” asking her twin brothers, Chris and Andrew, to stand beside her as she married her best friend, a role that meant the world to all three of them. Design inspiration came from a visit to The Greenbrier, where Cameron and her mom fell in love with Dorothy Draper’s iconic style, classic florals, bold blue stripes, and black-and-white checkered floors that perfectly complemented the Baldwin property’s Victorian charm. At the reception, guests added to a collaborative abstract painting in place of a traditional guest book, and the couple captured candid video messages with their beloved “Goose Cam,” named after their yellow lab! .

Advice From The Couple

“Include your family in the planning if possible! Our family from across VA and MD collected china plates from Goodwill stores and antique shops for our reception. It was so fun to get the family involved in a thrifting adventure!”
