Jeremy and Tyrell met in spring of 2014 through Instagram. It was love at first DM and they’ve been together ever since! When it comes to proposals, two are better than one! In 2023 the two took a trip to Breckenridge, Colorado. After a day of ski lessons Jeremy popped the question to Tyrell. Another trip and a month later, it was Tyrell’s turn. He seized his opportunity on the Ferris wheel at National Harbor overlooking the water and proposed to Jeremy. Each of course said “Yes!”.
Going into wedding planning, the couple knew they did not want a traditional wedding. As movie nerds, they came up with a theme inspired by their favorite film, Fantastic Mr. Fox by Wes Anderson. “We leaned into the 1960’s style of this era. Jeremy is a designer and created unique branding for the event that fit our theme. We designed, created, and crafted everything, even coming up with names for drinks and other activities to fit the vibe.”
The wedding was titled, “Jeremy and Tyrell’s Fantastic Soirée”. The name and 1960’s vintage wear dress code let the guests know this wedding was anything but traditional. Each attendee was greeted by the welcoming couple as they arrived at the venue. This turned out to be their favorite part of the night, giving them a chance to share a special moment with everyone before entering.
A note from the couple: “Wedding planning is stressful. There are a lot of details and shuffling to prepare for the big day, but we ended up having a lot of fun along the way once we really leaned into the unorthodox things we wanted to do. Now, when we look back on our big day there’s no way to deny that it’s every piece of our love personified, and everyone felt that. Our advice would be to keep it weird and do what feels right and authentic to you.”
