Real Richmond Wedding: Danielle + Taylor at Ashton Creek Vineyard
Danielle and Taylor

How They Met
Danielle and Taylor met through mutual friends at a swim meet they were attending. Danielle told her friend how cute she thought Taylor was and later that night she got his number. They started texting the next day and the rest was history!
The proposal was a complete surprise to Danielle! Taylor brainstormed with his mom and sister on when and where it should take place and they collectively decided on Ashton Creek Vineyard (the future location of their wedding)! It’s one of their favorite places and a close friend is the owner/winemaker so it couldn’t have been more perfect. The vineyard was decorated with flowers and as Danielle put it, “His mother and sister made it look like a scene straight out of The Bachelor…”
After their amazing proposal at Ashton Creek Vineyard, Danielle and Taylor knew they had to tie the knot there. The venue had a lot of rustic elements that Danielle wanted to tie into their décor and wedding colors, which were blush, gold, navy, and gray. They had sheer linens hung from the ceiling and lights wrapped around tall columns that gave a light and airy feel to the space. Florals were a big part of the day and came in every form from a stunning arch covered in flowers to gold floral hoops in place of bridesmaid bouquets.
Their ceremony was a music lover’s dream, which included vows with lyrics from Taylor’s favorite band, The Beatles. Following the big kiss, everyone filled their plates at the buffet for a delicious meal. “We love food so having a meal that was pretty, but also delicious was something we had to have!”
Favorite Part of the Day
“I think my favorite part was seeing him during our first look. We had to change the location due to Mother Nature having a different idea of weather than us. We ended up moving it to the basement of Ashton Creek Vineyard where all the wine is made which made it more sweet and intimate because the main focus was us! I’m sure Taylor’s is hearing how the Officiant tied The Beatles into our vows/message and his awesome choreographed mother-son dance which ended up having everyone on the dance floor!”
“I think the biggest challenge throughout planning the wedding was making sure I had every detail taken care of. Which let me tell you, no matter how prepared you think you are, something will happen. Mother Nature was probably the biggest challenge, but you just have to roll with the punches!”
Best Piece of Advice
“Don’t stress! You can’t control everything so just enjoy the process of planning and enjoy the time spent with your significant other, family, and friends!”
