Real Wedding: Hannah and Josh Winery Wedding
Hannah & Josh
April 30, 2016
Unknowingly, Josh and Hannah met as babies! Josh’s mother worked on Hannah’s father’s farm. The two re-met in 8th grade when Josh and Hannah’s brother, Chad, played baseball together. Josh proposed while on their annual family vacation in the Caribbean. On the second night of the cruise on January 5, 2015, they were taking family pictures. Throughout the photos, Hannah could feel Josh shaking, and her nursing instincts set in. She asked, “Are you okay? Do you need food?” Josh assured her that he was fine. (He was just nervous!) The photographer instructed Hannah to look up and close her eyes then open her eyes and look down. When she opened her eyes, Josh was on one knee! He said, “Hannah MacKenzie Moody, will you marry me?” She replied, “Are you serious?” Her family still teases her about that!
Hannah & Josh were married on Hannah’s family property, Green Meadows Farm, overlooking the pond she played around her entire life. For the reception, everyone headed to Ashton Creek Vineyard where Hannah & Josh had fallen in love with the people and the architecture. Even with over 280 guests, Kim Moody Design orchestrated a family style meal to make this wedding feel more like an intimate Sunday dinner. Mismatched antique china, mint green, ivory, and blush pink linens, tall gold candelabras, antique mirrored trays, and candles mixed with gorgeous florals completed the soft, romantic feel while a personalized photo booth captured the fun, lighthearted events of the evening.
RW Question: What was your most favorite part of the day?
That’s such a hard question! Other than marrying the love of my life, I really enjoyed the trolley ride from the wedding venue to the reception. It was an intimate time with our wedding party to sing, dance, selfie, and recall the events of the day. I can honestly say that it was the best, most fun day of my life.
RW Question: What was the biggest challenge you faced during wedding planning?
My biggest challenge was narrowing down the guest list!! It’s very difficult because you want everyone to enjoy this special day with you. Josh and I both have large families which made the guest list that much more difficult.
