How They Met
Brandon and I met in high school during youth group at Monument Heights Baptist Church. However, it wasn’t until a few years later, in college, when we our relationship turned romantic. Brandon messaged me on Facebook in January of 2012. During the conversation, we swapped phone numbers and set our first date.
How He Asked
Brandon proposed to me in 2015 on our favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. He convinced me that his younger brother needed to take pictures of us for his photography class. Brandon chose a beautiful field with three white crosses in the background for the proposal. While we were taking pictures, Brandon’s brother positioned us back to back. When I turned around for the next pose, Brandon was on one knee. It was beautiful, and his brother captured every special moment.
The Perfect Place
We are live in the area and frequently drove past The Virginia Cliffe Inn. We always commented on the beauty of the location. When we got engaged, it was at the top of our list. We loved the southern elegance of the house and grounds.
Pink is one of my favorite colors, and I knew I wanted to incorporate a shade of it in our wedding colors. My older sister helped me select blush, marsala, and gold. The Virginia Cliffe Inn has an elegant, southern style and we matched our decor to match.
Our centerpieces were repurposed gold wine bottles. Each table had two wine bottles. One wine bottle had a burgundy or blush rose and the other had a burgundy or blush dalia with eucalyptus. The Virginia Cliffe Inn had trees wrapped in lights. We had an evening wedding. The lights add to the breathtaking atmosphere.
My absolute favorite part was at the very end of the night. Brandon and I had a our getaway into the inn. When we got to our room, we looked out the window at all of our guests. My heart was so full with joy and love!
